Precocious in the Masai Mara

Thursday, November 06, 2008

Beautiful horses, horses with stamina; fast horses, collected horses with controllable paces; rides for beginners, fast gallops for the experienced; dry parched landscapes, lush green forests. The choice is yours. If you read on, my latest safari would not suit everyone. But at some point in the last couple of years I am confident that I will have experienced something that is ideal for you.

The Offbeat safari I have just completed was spot-on in terms of both the service and the riding. A traditional, well-equipped mobile camping safari was combined with a couple of nights of luxury in an old colonial estate house. Add to that a fast, exhilarating ride across the Masai Mara, cantering with the migrating herds and wildebeest and zebra, and racing an obliging giraffe or two. It has left me with many memories and lasting friendships. And Precocious is mine when I next ride with Offbeat!

As one of the other guests commented: It was, without a doubt the most special, intense, adrenaline-fuelled two weeks of my life!

If that sounds your sort of trip, then now is the time to be booking for the peak migration season next year. If you are looking for something different, that is the beauty of coming to Horsebacksafaris, or indeed for non-riders to Woodbridge Safaris. I am here to help you design the holiday of your dreams. Everything to suit you personally. We are accustomed these days to buying products specified to our own requirements: choosing a holiday is no different.
